Job Title
Alison Leach is the founder and director of BooksForTopics, an award-winning booklisting website that helps primary schools discover books to enrich curriculums and promote reading for pleasure. The booklists on the BooksForTopics website help users to find recommended children's books, including booklists for primary curriculum subjects like history and science, recommendations of the best new children's books, specific booklists for reading for pleasure and booklists of the best books by age or year group.

Before founding BooksForTopics, Alison trained as a primary school teacher and gained experience teaching across Key Stages 1 and 2 and leading English. Alison has also judged for the Diverse Book Awards, the Alligator's Mouth Award for Illustrated Early Fiction and the Laugh Out Loud (Lollies) Awards, and was herself awarded the Jacqueline Wilson Award for research into Children's literature. She has developed a passion for children's literature matched only by her love of coffee. The best part of her job at BooksForTopics is hearing how the book recommendations on the site have positively impacted reading for pleasure in schools and widened teachers' knowledge of children's books.
