Full Name
Abby Cook
Job Title
TV Presenter/Broadcaster
Bio
Growing up, Abby's favourite book was an enormous fact file of bugs - so she knows how important a good non-fiction book can be!
After a childhood spent reading late at night under the covers so no one would know she was still up, she became active in disability sport in Falkirk, helping young people find a place for themselves, before she moved down to Manchester and started her career in TV.
Working as a children's TV presenter, Abby has taken on a number of hair-raising challenges to conquer her fear of heights - abseiling down a viaduct, climbing a 30m high tree and presenting whilst flying in a plane with no engine (though not all on the same day). She has also reviewed books with enthusiastic young readers, from fact and fiction to poetry and graphic novels.
She loves getting stuck into a new book series, investigating a gripping mystery or discovering an exciting new female author - and she still dips into the bug book now and then.
