About

This year's edition celebrates Guinness World Records' 70th anniversary by showcasing how record breaking has changed over the years and what incredible looks like today.

The book opens with seven spreads inspired by the layouts of Guinness World Records annuals from each decade. Showing how styles and record categories have changed over the years, but that some records remain unbeaten! Elsewhere in the book, the double-page, infographic 'flashbacks' chart the progression of perennially popular record titles, including the highest humans, the fastest Rubik’s cube solves and the most eye-watering football transfers.

GWR also uses this special anniversary edition to introduce its ICONS - role models that truly symbolize and embody the very best of record breaking. There are 9 profiled throughout, from the tallest man ever to Taylor Swift.

Looking to the future, the dedicated Kid's Zone celebrates 8 new Young Achievers proving age is no barrier, including a DJ, a magician, a skateboarder and even a videogame developer.

Sprinkled throughout is 'Dear GWR' - an affectionate tribute to some of the funniest record applications from over the years that didn't quite make Guinness World Records' rigorous criteria.
