Peanut Jones and the Twelve Portals

Macmillan Children's Books

We invited readers of The Week Junior to help decide which of the 12 incredible designs shortlisted for The Children’s Book Cover of the Year award should be the overall winner.

They were asked to vote for the one they felt was the most eye-catching, creative and appealing – and the most likely to make them stop and look if they saw it in a bookshop or library.

Thousands of you took part and every cover received votes, but this “in-your-face” creation is the one that got most of all. Our art director, Dave Kelsall, described it as, “a highly imaginative, colourful cover that grabs your attention immediately.”

Thank you to all the readers who played their part in propelling Peanut Jones and the Twelve Portals into first place.
