The Week Junior Book Awards sponsored by Bookily from National Book Tokens celebrates the brilliant world of children’s books and the talented people who create them. It honours the authors, illustrators and publishers who inspire children to read for pleasure. The emphasis is on original ideas, outstanding illustration and smart storytelling, as well as new and diverse talent. 

 

The Week Junior Book Cover of the Year

The only award voted for by The Week Junior’s readers, this prize, sponsored by Bookily from National Book Tokens will be awarded to the cover that children deem to be the most creative, eye-catching and appealing to its intended audience. A unique opportunity to gain kudos from such an engaged consumer audience! Plus, your cover will be featured throughout our large-scale print and digital marketing campaign over two months.

The Categories

Our Awards allow publishers, illustrators and authors to nominate across nine categories including Children's Book of the Year: Fiction, Children's Book of the Year: Non-Fiction, Children's illustrated Book of the Year, and our Breakthrough category. The Awards Ceremony

All shortlisted authors, illustrators and publishers will be invited to the industry event of the year. where winners will, be revealed and rewarded.  The Awards will feature glittering drinks reception and award ceremony at our central London location overlooking the River Thames, on 2 October, 2023. This will be a truly exceptional calendar date for the children’s publishing industry!

From award-winning authors to broadcasters, presenters and YouTuber's, the 2023 awards are joined by a host of experts in children's literature.  We are also especially excited that our engaged young readers will have a seat at the voting table with our reader-only voted Children's Cover Of The Year category sponsored by Bookily from National Book Tokens.
