Terms & Conditions
- Entries can only be submitted online using the official entry form. Entries will not be accepted by any other means.
- Each entry must have its own written submission
- The launch date of the book must be provided during the online entry process and books must have been first physically (i.e. not digitally) published in the UK or Ireland between 1 January 2022 & 28 February 2023. Books previously published elsewhere first will not be eligible. The only exception to this is if it was simultaneously published in another territory in exactly the same week as the UK and Ireland.
- The award is open to English-language (only) books. This includes books in translation as long as the translation has been published during the period detailed above.
- We are unable to accept nominations from self-published books and authors.
- The Shortlist will be determined by a panel of industry experts as outlined on our website. The shortlisted books in each category will be judged by carefully selected panels of judges. The Week Junior readers will vote for Cover Of The Year from 26 May–8 August 2023.
- The Shortlist Committee reserves the right to move the entries to appropriate categories or dismiss inappropriate submissions.
- By submitting your entry you warrant that (i) the entry is wholly original to you and not copied from any other material; (ii) that the entry does not defame, cause injury to or invade the privacy of or otherwise infringe or violate any intellectual property or other rights of any third party; (iii) you have obtained all necessary licences, permissions
- Future reserves the right to substitute any area of the shortlist package for something of equivalent value.
- By taking part you agree to be bound by these terms and conditions and the collection of personal data in accordance with Future’s privacy policy
- Any eligible entry for the Prize shall not qualify unless its publisher agrees that if an entry should be Shortlisted, the publisher will contribute £1,950 + VAT by 12 May 2023 for promotional activity. Payments can be made by the link provided, or via invoice within 30 days. For shortlisted publishers with fewer than 10 employees the contributions will be reduced to zero. Publishers wishing to limit the number of titles shortlisted should contact the organisers in advance. Publishers will be notified in advance of the shortlist’s publication.
Logo Usage
- The trademarked logos must not be altered or amended in any way and must be used as supplied.
- All mentions of "The Week Junior" should be written out in full, capitalising the first letters of each word. To aid in relaying the strength and relationship you have with The Week Junior, here is a description that can be used for reference: The Week Junior is a multi award-winning magazine packed full of engaging articles, eye-catching images and big ideas that get eight-to-14 year-olds reading, thinking and talking. - In the case of any marketing activities you use the logos in, please do not change the logo orientation, crop the logo or distort the logo proportions.
